Location of Logbook files

FS Logbook Editor will try to find logbook files for supported simulators automatically after it is started. The Open Logbook... action in the File menu however does not perform this automatic search, so may find helpful to know where to look for the logbook files.

All the examples here uses the username (name of the user logged on the computer): Mouseviator and English version of Windows. You need to change the username accordingly  to match yours. 

FS 2004:
The logbook files are stored in the Flight Simulator Files folder in your Documents folder.

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Mouseviator\Documents\Flight Simulator Files\
Windows Vista/7/8: C:\Users\Mouseviator\Documents\Flight Simulator Files\

View folder in Windows Explorer:
Placing this:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Flight Simulator Files
in the navigation bar of Windows Explorer should take you right in the desired folder.

Logbook created by FS 2004 is simple text file with the .log extension. It should be at:
There might be no logbook at all (You have to enable the logging in FS 2004 first), only one logbook or more than one logbook.

Flight Simulator X:

FSX uses binary logbook file: logbook.bin. Only one file is supported by FSX and it is created automatically whenever it does
not exists. It is located at:

Windows Vista/7/8: C:\Users\Mouseviator\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\

Prepar3D v1.4:

The same as for FSX applies.

Prepar3D v 2.0 to 2.2:

The logbook is still saved at logbook.bin file, however the location is different.

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Mouseviator\Application Data\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 Files\
Windows Vista/7/8: C:\Users\Mouseviator\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 Files\

View folder in Windows Explorer:

%APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 Files\
in the navigation bar of Windows Explorer should take you right in the desired folder.

The AppData folder is hidden by default. You have to enable the display of hidden files in order to see it.
